What is crypto escrow?
By CardCashGo Editorial Team ·

Escrow is a neutral holding step. In crypto trading it means the coins being sold are locked until both sides have done their part.
Why escrow matters
Without escrow, one side has to trust the other to go first. Escrow removes that by holding the crypto during the trade.
How release works
The crypto is released when the seller confirms payment, or by staff after reviewing a dispute.
What escrow can't do
Escrow protects the crypto side. It cannot reverse a bank payment, so both sides still need to follow safe payment practices.
